What a great time we all had at our schools Twilight Festival. It was lovely to see our community pull together to create an inviting atmosphere in our school. The grade 5 /6 students did us proud as they planned, researched, organised and ran their own stalls which covered a huge range from fairy tent to tattoos from sponge the teacher to the sale of a computer game which the students devised and created themselves.
Captain Koala payed us a visit as well as the Sassafras Ferny Creek CFA. We were treated to performances by our school choir, recorder group, rock band and jazz band (one of our talented teachers joined even joined them for the encore). The children were involved in creating colourful and inviting stalls which included plants, pocket money stall, lollies, chocolate coin toss, balloon making, a frog bog stall and name the teddy (the lucky winners of the teddies will be announced at assembly on Friday).
Let’s not forget the grand opening of the Ferny Creek Frog Bog, which was officially opened by the Shire and where we were presented with the sustainability award. What an achievement. A special thank you to all the parent helpers and especially Rhian Jessop who coordinated the event.
