Whole School Picnic

What a fantastic day we all had at the School Picnic at Ferny Creek Reserve.  This is the final event of our Valued Start Program where we focus on our school mantra ‘Together We Make A Difference, and our school values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience.  We also spent a lot of time getting used to the routine sand rigour of 2017.

The 38th Great Billy Cart Derby

Billy Cart Derby – Friday March 3rd

Welcome to the Ferny Creek PS Billy Cart Derby. This is a tradition that goes back to the days of pounds, shillings and pence.  Originally the races were held down the dirt track of School Road on to Old Main Road.  Since the 1990’s we have held it on our slope below the netball court.

The BCD is a highlight of the Ferny Creek year and a favourite event for many! It’s a guaranteed evening of FUN as well as a great opportunity for our new families to get to know others in our school community. Our littlies, although most welcome to, don’t usually participate in the Billy Cart Races, so we have a ‘Wheels Parade’ for these children before the racing starts.

Timings as follows:

  • BBQ – 5pm (until we run out of food!)
  • ‘Wheels’ Parade – 5:30-6pm (further information to follow)
  • Billy Cart Racing – 6-8pm

Welcome to 2017!

Has everyone had a great holiday? We can’t wait to hear about them, and we look forward to seeing all of our Grade 1 to Grade 6 students on our 1st day of Term 1 – Wed 1st February.
