As part of the ‘Stories Up High’, The Yarra Ranges Writers Festival is holding some exciting literary events this year.
One of these involves the work of David Walliams , the renowned English author of many children’s books including ‘Gangster Granny’. The organisers of the Festival are looking for reviews of David Walliams books.
The reviews need to include why you liked the story, what was interesting, favourite characters, funny parts, why you would you recommend it to others to read, and so on.
If we get enough children from Ferny Creek entering we will receive a set of David Walliams books for the school.
Also the two best reviews from Ferny Creek PS will receive free tickets to a fantastic ‘Stories Up High’ event. So the holidays would be a perfect time to read one of his books and get your review underway. You have until the 20th April to read one of his books and write a review.
Hand in your review to Cheryl when you have finished. Have fun reading!!
Every year (weather gods permitting) we get out the carts and the hay bails. This year was no exception and the sun shone down upon us for the 36th running of out cherished Bill Cart Derby. Fund raising was in full swing on the day with much needed money coming from the sale of drinks and food and of course the leftover hay bails!
Christmas Carols at Ferny Creek Reserve. A great turn out with spectacular weather and singing! Here’s the Ferny Creek Primary School choir in jingle bell action.
Ferny Creek’s Science Program was highlighted recently in the Herald Sun.
